Told by founder Dr Nouria Salehi, Since 1983, reveals the story of The Afghan Gallery Restaurant and what has made it last for over 40 years as it now comes to a close. Nouria and her siblings set up the restaurant to help people immigrating to Melbourne from Afghanistan through creating employment through the restaurant. Our short documentary explores the powerful significance this restaurant has had, reaching beyond the Salehiʼs initial intentions, as well as Dr Nouriaʼs personal impact on the Afghan community. Since 1983 honours the people behind Australiaʼs first ever Afghan restaurant and conveys the legacy it will leave behind.
